Mary McCormack was an American actress, best known for her portrayals as the protagonist in TV programs like "Murder One", "The West Wing", "In Plain Sight" and Loaded. Additionally, she is known for her roles in films which include "Private Parts", "Deep Impact", "True Crime" and 1408. Born to a clinical therapist and an ice cream parlor manager, McCormack hails from a family without any direct connections to the entertainment field. Following the separation of her parents, she went to Trinity College Hartford, Connecticut. After having graduated from Wardlaw-Hartridge School with a BA in English, she was awarded a degree. The career of the actress started at the twelve years old when she appeared in a stage production the Christmas musical 'Amahl and the Night Visitors'. While she pursued her profession in the theatre, she eventually was cast in roles on television and film. McCormack today is acknowledged as one of the best known and versatile actors. Michael Morris (producer/director) is the husband of McCormack. They have three daughters.
