Miller was born to Italian parents in Rome. Her father was the former editor for The Olympian in Washington. The father of her mother was former director of The Olympian newspaper in Washington. Her love for the performing arts began when she was just a young girl. She took acting classes and also dance training. After college, she moved from New York City to Los Angeles in order to begin a lucrative acting career. Her debut film was the short Lucy's Piano in 2006. After playing a key role in 2009's film 17 Again she appeared playing the leading role of Alice McKee in the fantasy action film Blood: The Last Vampire. In 2009, she had her first major TV breakthrough when she played the part of Alice McKee on the fantasy action film Blood: The Last Vampire.
